Jackie’s Teaching Philosophy
At the heart of my teaching philosophy lies the belief that music education should be a dynamic and engaging journey. I strive to create an environment where students not only learn, but also experience the joy and fulfillment that music brings.
When I teach, I don't just see another student. I see a unique individual, with their own set of learning preferences, backgrounds, and dreams. Embracing this beautiful diversity, I customize my curriculum to truly connect with who my students are. It's about making their learning experiences not just educational, but deeply meaningful and relevant. Understanding that everyone learns differently, I take a flexible and adaptable approach, playing to their strengths and supporting their growth.
Taking ownership of learning is at the core of my teaching style. I want to empower students to actively shape their own musical journey—setting goals, exploring interests, and truly taking charge of their progress. This approach not only instills a strong sense of responsibility but also sparks a profound engagement with the learning process.
In essence, my teaching philosophy centers on creating a nurturing and empowering environment where students can flourish as musicians and individuals. By fostering a love for music, encouraging active participation in the learning process, and supporting students to forge their own paths, I aim to inspire lifelong learners who carry their musical passions with them throughout their journey.
